And for a while , it was true
We'd wear matching clothes
Walk at school with our heads held high
Never did we know that our plans weren't going to come true
Our plans of college
Our wild adventures to be
How we'd be at each other's weddings
Take our children to play dates
And make an all dessert restaurant too
When did i realize that our dreams have come to an end ?
When we hadn't talked for a month
When we saw each other at school ,
"Hi" we'd say and go our separate ways
This is the one friend i thought i'd never lose
When someone told me people change
You don't expect that you'll stay friend forever that long
Do you ?
I'd smile and say "We'll see"
I guess this is one of life's great lessons
Nothing lasts forever ...
